The Need in Eastern Visayas

Why Tarangnan, Western Samar?

Tarangnan, Western Samar in the Philippines is a coastal municipality where distance, difficult transportation, and limited access to specialty care can delay needed medical, surgical, and dental services. Tarangnan is officially classified as a 3rd-class municipality, reflecting limited local revenue and fiscal space for health and social services. It is also located in Samar, the province with the highest poverty incidence in Eastern Visayas - making focused outreach especially meaningful for families with the fewest resources and the greatest barriers to care.
