USTNAI Awards & Recognition Program
2026 Nursing Excellence Awards & Recognition
The University of Santo Tomas Nurses Association International (USTNAI) Awards and Recognition Program is designed to honor members whose contributions and achievements have significantly impacted the field of nursing and healthcare.
This initiative acknowledges the dedication and professionalism of individuals who have made a lasting difference in their communities and in the healthcare sector.
Excellence Award Categories
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Distinguished Nurse Award
- Presidential Award
- Clinical Excellence Award
- Advance Nursing Practice (ANP) Excellence Award
- Nursing Leadership Excellence Award
- Nursing Excellence in Education Award
- Community Outreach Excellence Award
- Spirit of Membership Award
Eligibility Criteria
- A minimum of 10 years in nursing practice
- Active membership with USTNAI for at least three (3) consecutive years at the time of application
- Two written recommendations from two (2) professional colleagues and/or a supervisor
- Demonstrated outstanding achievements in nursing and leadership that command respect and recognition from other recognized leaders in the profession
- Attendance at the Awards Ceremony is mandatory if selected
- Written essay of no more than 300 words describing evidence of enduring and transformational achievement, professional and personal growth, and use of innovative, creative solutions
Essay may demonstrate achievement in at least one of the following:
- Involvement in and service to the profession
- Excellence in clinical or professional practice
- Excellence in Education
- Excellence in research
- Excellence in leadership or business
- Advancement of the nursing profession through advocacy, innovation, and knowledge sharing
Eligibility for Nomination
- Who is eligible for nomination?
Any current member of USTNAI. - Who can nominate a candidate?
Any current member of USTNAI. Self-nominations are permitted. - How many candidates can I nominate?
You can nominate your candidate or yourself to only ONE category of awards.
Nomination Rules
- Any current USTNAI member may nominate a candidate.
- Self-nominations are permitted.
- A nominee may be submitted for only one award category.
- Selection is determined by the Awards Committee.
- Committee decisions are final.
Judging Guidelines
- The Judging Committee will consist of the Awards Chair and a minimum of five (5) individual volunteer members from USTNAI.
- The Judging Committee will perform the judging and scoring of the biographical forms.
- Only one (1) winner will be declared — no runner-up.
- If a question arises, a collaborative discussion among the Judging Committee will determine the scoring.
Exclusionary Criteria
- Current members of the USTNAI Executive Board cannot be nominated, subject to policy guidelines.
- Members of the Awards Committee are not eligible.
Required Submission Checklist
- Completed Nomination Form
- Two written recommendations
- Evidence or record of attendance at USTNAI conferences
- Essay, maximum 300 words, describing transformational achievements and professional impact
- One 2" x 2" passport photograph
