THE ALAY NG PUSO SPONSOR A CHILD- DONATE A PADDLE

The Alay ng Puso Outreach Program Committee is gravely concerned by the growing incidence of violence among minors in various parts of the Philippines. Recent observations indicate that one major contributing factor to this issue is excessive video gaming, which can negatively impact children in several ways:

  • Physical Health Risks: Prolonged gaming often results in inactivity, obesity, eye strain, and poor posture.
  • Sleep Disruption: Late-night gaming disrupts healthy sleep patterns, affecting mood, concentration, and the ability to learn.
  • Online Safety Risks: Multiplayer gaming exposes children to cyberbullying, inappropriate interactions, and other online dangers.
  • Academic Performance: Children who spend over three hours daily on video games frequently face declining academic achievement, sleep disturbances, and, in some cases, the emergence of addictive behaviors.

To address these challenges and foster healthier habits, we invite you to support our initiative to promote active lifestyles through the sport of pickleball—a dynamic and inclusive activity ideal for youth engagement.

How You Can Make a Lasting Impact ?

A donation of at least $35 provides one child with a pickleball paddle and helps us purchase essential equipment. Your contribution directly empowers young people, particularly those from underserved communities in Tarangnan, Samar, Philippines to access this rewarding sport.

Why Pickleball?

  • Promotes Physical Health: Pickleball is a low-impact, accessible sport that boosts cardiovascular fitness, coordination, and agility.
  • Encourages Social and Emotional Growth: Participation nurtures teamwork, sportsmanship, friendship, and self-confidence, while honing problem-solving skills.
  • Supports Mental Well-being: Regular physical activity helps improve mental health, decrease excessive screen time, and foster more balanced lifestyles.

By equipping children with sports gear, you help bridge the gap in access to recreation, empowering them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Together, we can inspire resilience, camaraderie, and brighter futures for our youth.

Thank you for considering our appeal and for supporting the ongoing efforts of the Alay ng Puso Outreach Program Committee. This community outreach event also proudly commemorates the 80th Anniversary of the UST College of Nursing.

Please help us keep the nursing flames burning by supporting this Project!
