Objectives:
1. Explore the essential role of stewardship in nursing leadership, emphasizing how effective leadership can foster a culture of caring and ethical practice in nursing. Participants will learn how stewardship can transform the nursing profession and enhance patient care.
2. Identify strategies for practicing stewardship in clinical settings, focusing on how nursing leaders can ensure safety and quality in patient care while supporting their staff’s well-being. The session will provide actionable insights for minimizing harm and advocating for evidence-based practices.
3. Highlight the importance of interprofessional collaboration and partnership within the healthcare environment. Attendees will discover how empowering nurses through participatory decision-making and mentorship strengthens team dynamics and enhances overall patient outcomes.
The webinar will culminate in a call to action, encouraging attendees to embrace their role as stewards in nursing and to advocate for a collaborative and ethical approach to leadership in the healthcare landscape.
About our speaker:
Inocencia "Ida" Tionko graduated from UST College of Nursing Class of 1970 under Sor Paz Marfori and earned a Master's in Health Professions Education from UP in 1986.
She was a former Associate Professor 3 of the UST College of Nursing and the UST Graduate School, where she taught for 41 years after returning from New York, where she worked at the Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center.
Since retirement in 2015, she has been busier than ever with the UST Alumni Association as Chair of the Academics Team; formerly the chair of the Dept of Continuing Professional Advancement of the PNA; currently an Evaluator and Monitor of the CPD Council of the PRC Board of Nursing and most of all, where truly her heart and passion is - her parish work as i the Coordinator of the Parish Renewal Program in her parish a member of the EXECOM of their Parish Pastoral Council and the Regent of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate Circle in their parish. Truly a blessed life serving the Lord!
